In applications where snow is likely, tension structures made with the shade mesh (HDPE) will require removal of the fabric each autumn and reinstallation in the spring. The columns, of course, can stay up year round. Structures made with PVC and PTFE are designed and engineered to accept the expected amount of snow at their specific location. |
The shade fabric is a knitted mesh that allows light to come through while blocking up to 93% of the UV rays. This product is not waterproof. The PVC and PTFE products are entirely waterproof. |
Our shade mesh (HDPE) has a warranty of 10 years. The PVC (PVDF) has a warranty of 10 years and an expected life of up to 15 years. The PTFE has a 15 year warranty and an expected life of 30 to 40 years. |
There are three phases to consider: design, component ordering and the installation. A very complex design will require more time to design and install, while a simpler structure will take 10 to 16 weeks from start to finish. |

Cost is directly related to the size of the shaded area, the type of fabric selected, the specification on the components and the amount of design and engineering required for each application. Every effort is made to minimize the cost while still providing a high quality product that will be safe, attractive and enjoyable for many years.
